A piece of the Prehistoric Sea
Trilobite Fossil
No creature exemplified the diverse nature of life more than the trilobite. This class of arthropods formed a staggering amount of different species throughout the Cambrian Period. Today, over 5,000 different genera of trilobites have been discovered and named, with more surely waiting to be discovered.
This specimen is a trilobite from Morocco. Our material comes from Silurian and Devonian formations and date to 350,000,000-400,000,000 years old. Fossils measure roughly 5mm to 1cm in length, and each trilobite is secured in acrylic specimen jars and housed inside our classic, glass-topped riker display cases.
The genus is broadly categorized under Phacops. A small information card is also enclosed that also serves as the certificate of authenticity.
Fossilized Poop
Dinosaur Dung
Scientifically known as "coprolites," but commonly referred to as Dinosaur Dung, this is a fossilized dropping from a long necked sauropod found in Morrison Formation. It is attributed to a 150,000,000 year old sauropod, a long necked herbivorous dinosaur.
Over millions of years, minerals, such as chalcedony and quartz, replaced the original organic material. This process creates a rich, colorful matrix that allows us to study the diet and lifestyle of long-extinct creatures.
The specimen in this bundle measures approximately 1-1.5 cm and includes an informational display card with the Mini Museum Seal of Authenticity.

Ammonite Shell Pocket Fossil
Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that entered the fossil record 400 million years ago. They survived several mass extinction events, including the Permian–Triassic "Great Dying" which wiped out 96% of all marine species. They finally succumbed during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event 66 million years ago, which also wiped out the dinosaurs.
This specimen is a fossilized ammonite shell from Madagascar. It is split to reveal the internal spiral structure of the shell, where the prehistoric cephalopod lived.
A Real Fossil Tooth from a Sea Creature
Mosasaur Tooth Pocket Fossil
Millions of years ago, the mighty Mosasaur swam through the Cretaceous seas, a real-life sea monster that dominated the food chain. These aquatic lizards could grow up to 56 feet from head to tail, with dozens of sharp teeth between their jaws.
Mosasaur teeth were conical and perfect for catching fish. The reptiles shed them quite often and were always growing replacements.
This specimen is one of these pocket-sized fossil teeth from a 66,000,000-year-old Mosasaur!
The pocket fossil, display box, and folding card!
Triceratops Frill Pocket Fossil
Triceratops was one of the last dinosaurs to appear in the Late Cretaceous. Like other members of the Ceratopsid family, these large quadrupeds sported bony frills, horns, and beak-like mouths.
Their frills were theorized to have a number of purposes, ranging from defense, identification, cooling, and mating display. Although the science of their use is not conclusive, the broad frills and horns have made Triceratops one of the most iconic dinosaurs and are immediately recognizable.
This specimen is a pocket-sized fragment of one of these fossilized frills from a 66,000,000-year-old Triceratops!
