Cretaceous Era Fossil - Pseudostacus SOLD 6.16" - Sannine Formation

Cretaceous Era Fossil - Pseudostacus SOLD 6.16" - Sannine Formation

93 million years ago, prehistoric sea creatures swam in the coastal waters of what is now the Sannine Formation. This limestone deposit in northern Lebanon is a treasure trove of fossil specimens that paleontologists are learning more about each day.

This specimen is a 6.16" showcase Pseudostacus fossil. Pseudostacus was a genus of lobster that lived during the Cenomanian. Like today’s lobsters, it would have been a bottom feeder, picking up scraps left behind by other creatures in the Tethys Sea. The fossil is estimated to be over 93 million years old and includes a black metal stand and a certificate of authenticity.
