8" Fossilized Nautilus Ammonite Display with 5" Fossil Centerpiece

Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that first appeared more than 400 million years ago. These ancient marine animals survived multiple mass extinction events, including the devastating Permian-Triassic event, which wiped out nearly all marine species. They finally disappeared around 66 million years ago during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction, the same event that ended the age of the dinosaurs.
This one-of-a-kind display features a beautifully preserved Cleoniceras ammonite fossil from Madagascar. The fossil has been polished to reveal its intricate chamber lines and natural coloration. Measuring roughly 5 inches in diameter, it offers a clear view into the internal architecture of this ancient creature.
To bring the fossil to life, the display includes hand-sculpted tentacles crafted in clay, inspired by modern cephalopods like the nautilus. The complete piece, including the fossil, sculptural elements, and a sturdy lava rock base, stands approximately 8 inches tall and wide.
It ships in a gold gift box, ready to share a moment from deep time with anyone who values the rare and remarkable.
