The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is the successor of the Hubble Space Telescope. Its launch date was repeatedly postponed and it became one of the most highly-anticipated space missions until it finally launched on Christmas day in 2021.
With more advanced and sensitive equipment than Hubble, this telescope is answering many questions—and raising new questions—about the formation of planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe itself.
Its most notable feature is the unique mirror array it uses to gather light from the depths of the universe. By wearing this pin, you are a curious observer, taking in your universe and analyzing it with scientific reasoning.
