Polished Sutured Ammonite - 6.70" Cleoniceras

Polished Sutured Ammonite - 6.70" Cleoniceras

Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that entered the fossil record 400 million years ago. This specimen is a 6.70" polished Cleoniceras fossil from Madagascar. Additional mineralization has resulted in iridescent material on the inside of the spiral.

This particular genus of ammonite had beautiful suture patterns that cross their shells like feathered jigsaw pieces and make fantastic display pieces. A stand and informational card is included with each fossil.
