Blue Ice Ammonite Necklace - 2.33"

Blue Ice Ammonite Necklace - 2.33"

Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that entered the fossil record 400 million years ago. With tough, chambered shells filled with buoyant gas, Ammonites were able to thrive as apex predators until they were wiped out in the K/Pg extinction.

This necklace contains a 2.33" fossil ammonite shell and is inlaid with "blue ice" glacierite. This mineral is a sodium-aluminum oxide from Indonesia with a beautiful white-to-blue color. The fossil is set into a fine sterling silver backing with an 18" chain
