Cretaceous Era Fossil - Eurypholis Pair 3.77" & 3.78" - Sannine Formation

93 million years ago, prehistoric sea creatures swam in the coastal waters of what is now the Sannine Formation. This limestone deposit in northern Lebanon is a treasure trove of fossil specimens that paleontologists are learning more about each day.

This specimen is a 6.04" showcase pair of Eurypholis fossils. Eurypholis was a genus of ray-finned fish with a short snout and protected by scutes along its midsection between the head and dorsal fin. The specimen is estimated to be over 93 million years old and includes a black metal stand and a certificate of authenticity.
