Ankylosaurus Dermal Armor - Scute Fragment

Ankylosaurus Dermal Armor - Scute Fragment

One of the most heavily armored dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth, Ankylosaurus's plating consisted of not bone but hardened skin, known as "osteoderms." These plates, or "scutes" lined Anklylosaurus's back, neck, and tail, protecting it from the sharp teeth and claws of Cretaceous predators.

This specimen is a fragment of an Ankylosaurus "scute." Originally appearing in the Third Edition of the Mini Museum as well as Age of Dinosaurs, we are proud to present the Ankylosaurus Scute Fragment in add-on form!
